Traditional Tuscan Cooking Class – 4 Courses

Roll up your sleeves in a professional kitchen with an Italian chef and craft a full Tuscan menu from antipasto to dessert. Then sit down in an atmospheric wine cellar to savor your creations with a perfectly paired local wine.

A Hands-On Introduction To Tuscan Cooking

Step into a fully equipped Florentine kitchen and learn the rhythms of a classic Italian meal with a warm, professional chef as your guide. You’ll whisk, knead, and season your way through a satisfying four-course menu before enjoying everything you’ve prepared in a cozy wine cellar.

What Makes This Culinary Class Unique

This is a true cook-and-dine experience, not a demo. You’ll work with seasonal produce and quality staples, from extra-virgin olive oil to stone-ground flour, while mastering techniques you can easily recreate at home. Vegetarian and vegan adaptations are happily accommodated with advance notice.

From Prep To Plate – How Your Class Unfolds

After a chef’s briefing, you’ll begin with an elegant antipasto, move on to hand-made pasta for the primo, prepare a flavorful secondo, and finish with a classic Italian dessert. As the kitchen fills with irresistible aromas, your host pours a Tuscan wine to crown the meal you’ve created together.

Tuscan Ingredients And Culinary Heritage

Tuscany cooks with honesty and nuance: ripe tomatoes, fragrant herbs, robust greens, artisanal cheeses, and excellent olive oil. Your chef explains how seasonality shapes the table, why simplicity wins in Tuscan kitchens, and how to select ingredients that let flavors sing.

A Brief History Of Tuscan Cuisine

Tuscan cooking grew from country traditions that prized fresh harvests, wood-fired breads, and clever ways to waste nothing. Olive groves, vineyards, and vegetable plots defined the table, while cities like Florence layered in spices, trade goods, and festive sweets. The result is a cuisine both rustic and refined, simple to prepare, generous to share, and eternally in season.

The whole family really enjoyed this experience, everyone could participate and we all learned something new during the class. Our host made the evening fun, the finished product was delicious. Would recommend for couples or a family with older children.

This was a great evening for my children and I who have varying levels of cooking ability. Fabrizio, the chef, was engaging, knowledgeable, entertaining and professional. The facility was a wonderful commercial kitchen with all the bells and whistles and when you were finished cooking and ready to dine, you moved to a very cool wine cellar that had been set by his assistant. The food was delicious and appealed to even the pickiest of my kids. Another family was in the group and the 5 teens became fast friends making it even more enjoyable. Best of all, we left with a booklet of all the recipes so that I can re-create this glimpse of Tuscany for my friends and family back home! If Rick Steves has not given a shout out to your company in his book, I might have missed out on one of the most fun nights of our trip of a lifetime!

I highly recommend this Artiva cooking class. The chef/teacher was great! Enough of the food prep was done ahead of time to keep the class moving at a good pace, yet there was enough cooking for us to do that it felt like we really did make dinner. Cooking with a group of strangers immediately makes you friends. A wonderful experience!
