Firstly, learn from our mistake and skip breakfast. With this tour you’ll only need to find your own dinner. Breakfast and lunch are covered. Lara introduced us to the flavors of Florence. She was an excellent guide explaining the nuances of ordering and eating breakfast while standing…a traditional Italian thing. She also taught us the Italian way to eat and drink. At lunch time we had pasta which was prepared al dente (slightly undercooked). Had Lara not explained this was intentional, we would have naively asked them to finish cooking the pasta. All in all a worth while experience introducing you to the culture of Italian cuisine.

The Artviva tour of the Uffizi was a great deal. You learn so much about the important works with a very knowledgeable guide. It was interesting to learn about the artists and the history behind each work you may otherwise never know if you did it on your own. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this tour into the environs of Florence! We went to Monteceri near Fiesole, with part of the tour in Fiesole itself. Our guide was knowledgeable and told us many things about nature and the history of the area, while we were hiking through a gorgeous forest. I was happy to see a different part of Tuscany (apart from Florence).

I really enjoyed this tour through the galleries. The guide was nice and you knew he was having fun putting across his knowledge he has gained as a professional art researcher. There was a clear structure to the tour itself, and Mario explained the different styles and what differentiates them, which made it easy to follow. He has an interactive style asking questions while leading a group, which proved to be good as I realised it was therefore easier to remember what he had explained before. Overall, I would recommend this tour as you see important masterpieces and get access to “behind the scenes” knowledge.

Superb tour guide. We appreciated his passion for the work of Michelangelo and his knowledge of the artist. He added a feature we didn’t expect and it was a difference maker.

Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. She really brought the Ufizzi to life for us. She put the building and its art in context, walking us to specific pieces and connecting details of both the art and the lives lived in the building. She really helped us stop and appreciate what we saw on a focused tours. We would have been lost and overwhelmed without her. Engaged us in conversation from the moment we met. Enthusiastically recommend this!
