8 reviews for Masterpieces of the Vatican St. Peter’s & Sistine Chapel Tour

  1. Malcolm Jones

Our guide Patricia was so knowledgeable & explained to us the significance of the paintings & statues before we entered the Vatican. This was extremely helpful because we could appreciate better what we saw, even allowing for the large crowds. We particularly appreciated her friendliness & patience answering our questions & found it much easier to appreciate our surroundings going round in a small group. Booking was straightforward with no problems at all. We would definitely recommend ArtViva to friends and in fact have already done so.

  2. Tracey Brooks

Our tour guide Alessandro was beyond amazing. We booked a group tour and my mother, who is almost 80 was having a tough day. We mentioned the tour guide could go on without us. He said we’re a team and we all go together and stop together as we need to. He was gracious throughout and so kind. We also appreciated his deep knowledge of art and history, as well as his cultural insight and anecdotes. First-class guide and experience.

The only way to see the Vatican!
Wonderful tour, amazing guide, well worth the money. We even got into a few rooms that most people didn’t have access to.

  4. Lynn Gerveler

We booked a private tour for the Vatican for 6 if us. The guide was prompt to our meeting location and we skipped the crazy lines of people waiting to get in. Our guide was outstanding! Full of wonderful knowledge and so excited to share it with us! We learned an incredible amount of information and you appreciate what you are looking at when you understand it more. The Vatican was very crowded on the Monday we visited but the guide handled it like a professional. I have used ArtViva in Italy before and will use for all future visits. They have the most knowledgeable guides!

Great tour would definitely recommend it!!!

  6. Mark Rock

Booking a private tour was a major decision and ArtViva staff was patient, polite and helpful- we took the risk to book the tour based on that great support. Our guide Marianne was a qualified professional who led us effortlessly through the line-ups and crowds, easily adapted her content to our interests and was able to answer our particular questions. She arrived and finished on time, arranged breaks as needed and was a pleasant, smiling companion to our only ‘museums and artworks’ tour. This was genuinely a ‘custom’ tour and couldn’t have pleased us more. We had a great time in Italy and this tour was a highlight. If we are fortunate enough to travel again we would definitely want ArtViva to be a part of our holiday. Make certain that your best ‘souvenirs’ are memorable moments you will still treasure long after the trinkets are gone.

  7. Andra White

We were delighted to have a small group of 6 of which we were 4. We managed the crowds comfortably and were impressed with how knowledgeable Rochelle was. In fact one of us who had previously had a private tour said she learned so much more with this passionate and energetic guide who made the spaces and art come alive with her descriptions. She timed the tour so we were able to see the changing of the Swiss Guard which was a special treat!

  8. Dale Selves

This was one of several private tours booked with ArtViva and worth every penny/lyra! There is so very much to see in the Vatican and St.Peter’s Basilica – don’t do it alone. Our guide was an expert and had a knowledgeable answer to every question asked. He was also sensitive to us taking pictures. He paced the tour accordingly and created many opportunities. This was such an enjoyable, eye-opening tour! Congrats, ArtViva!
