Our Early Morning Small Group Uffizi Tour:

We will get an early start on the day, meeting our great Artviva tour guide close to the Uffizi gallery.

The Magic Begins

On the way to entering the Uffizi gallery our expert Uffizi Gallery guide will begin to weave stories about the artists who changed art forever.

Uffizi Over View

Our guides first provide a brief overview of what you will be seeing in the oldest and finest museum in the world. Following on from our introductory Florence tour (The Original Florence Walk) our guides will explain why Florence became the birthplace of the Renaissance.

The Uffizi Gallery collection is truly vast. But we’ve designed the tour to ensure you see the highlights. We also get to see some wonderful hidden Uffizi gems as well.

Must sees

Our Early Morning Uffizi Gallery Tour goes straight to the important must-see masterpieces.  You’ll enjoy taking advantage of a much better view of the art masterpieces without the later entry massive crowds.

The Greats

Our amazing expert Uffizi guide will ensure you hear all about the artists that created such greats as the Birth of Venus.

Medici Family Connections

You’ll also hear why the gallery was created by and for the Medici banking family.

Once one of the most powerful families in Italy-the Medici family legacy is now enshrined in the Uffizi Gallery.

Much of the incredible artwork produced during the renaissance  was because of and for the Medici family.

Just imagine one family commissioning and owning the world’s greatest masterpieces. Works by the masters Botticelli, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto, Michelangelo and many more renaissance geniuses.

Uffizi Gallery Tour- Must See Artworks

Getting around the Uffizi museum by yourself is feasible, however quite a task. With over 45 rooms it can be tough to understand what deserves seeing.

We use our time  wisely by making the most of our special very early entrance to see the master works. We will make sure we see the highlights and splendour that Florence developed.

Some of the master works you will see up close are Giotto’s Ognissanti Madonna, Botticelli’s Primavera, Raphael’s Madonna of the Goldfinch, Fabriano’s Adoration of the Magi … These master works and more,  appreciated for centuries, formed the Renaissance.

Why Reserve Artviva’s Uffizi Gallery small group tour?

  1. Eilleen Koehler

I would give this tour five stars instead of the four noted, but the meeting location was difficult for us to find (perhaps not everyone, but it was 8:00 am and we were jet lagged). Once we did find the meeting spot, and joined the rest of the tour, the rest was great. Corinna, our guide, was amazingly able to handle the Uffizzi crowds with grace, and was super super knowledgeable. Best guide we encountered.

  2. Christine

we loved this tour. Our guide was fantastically knowledgeable and friendly. I can’t imagine getting half as much out of touring the Uffizi without someone to point out each painter and work’s contribution to the evolution or revolution of art. Along with great historical anecdotes and sly asides. Also appreciated that the guide was very concerned to make up for a late start due to participants getting lost on way to meeting place.

  3. Marcia

Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. She really brought the Ufizzi to life for us. She put the building and its art in context, walking us to specific pieces and connecting details of both the art and the lives lived in the building. She really helped us stop and appreciate what we saw on a focused tours. We would have been lost and overwhelmed without her. Engaged us in conversation from the moment we met. Enthusiastically recommend this!

  4. Lauren Williams

This tour was one of our highlights to Florence, mostly because of our guide Mario. His passion and knowledge of the arts was palpable, and both my husband and I learnt so much about interpreting the art as well as identifying the era’s. We walked away with “an understanding of why we are in Florence” as Mario put it. At times I felt quiet emotional listening to Him and the many history lessons and analogies he made… I have had a love of art since adolescences, my husband accompanied me on this tour but also walked away completely inspired. Our only regret was not tipping Mario as we were not sure of the custom in Italy. Would highly recommend this tour and especially the time of day. The office is a little hard to find so leave yourself plenty of time.

  5. Christopher Corsig

Well worth the money! Got more out of this tour than any other. Brenda, our guide took us through all of the significant works and added much to our understanding and appreciation. Very knowledgeable on the subject matter.

  6. Enid and Bryan Forman

This was our third tour of the Uffizi with an ArtViva guide. Not only was the experience enhanced by making the choice to try the Early Morning Tour, but each guide brought something unique to the history behind the fabulous collection of art. Florinda, our guide for this tour, was a font of knowledge … this was art history at it’s best. The small group size definitely worked to our advantage: headsets weren’t required, as we were all able to listen to and interact directly with our guide. We wouldn’t even consider taking in the gallery without ArtViva at our side.

  7. Just west of Boston

To start we know little about art. Our guide filled us with information and appreciation about what we were experiencing. She was entertaining and fun to be with and obviously very passionate about the works we were seeing and the history behind them. Our tour flew by, would highly recommend. Well worth the money!

  8. scott miller

The early morning/ small group tour was great. Our guide, Liz, was knowledgeable and friendly. It was money well spent to beat some of the crowds and also get detailed information of what we were experiencing. Easy booking and easy meeting in advance of the tour.
